How many adventures can you pack in just 4 days in Cyprus? Find out how we explored 4 cities in 4 days: Larnaca, Limassol, Ayia Napa and Protaras, the water activities we enjoyed, helpful travel tips, how we booked, where we stayed and which dishes we loved!
How to spend 4 days in Cyprus?
Essential Cyprus tips
- If you’re planning to spend more than 4 days in Cyprus, it may be worth renting a car. While you can go anywhere by bus, there’s a lot of walking from the bus stop to the actual destination (for example: Cape Cavo Greco, Larnaca Salt Lake). Also if you’re traveling between different cities, you can save time if you’re driving; but be careful, they drive on the left side of the road.
- Buy Euro in your home country. We couldn’t find an exchange point in Larnaca and we later learned that we can only exchange in banks.
- To use public transportation, you shall pay cash to the driver upon ascent to the bus; the bus fares differ between day and night and across different cities.
- You can travel between different cities via intercity bus; we took round trips from Larnaca to Limassol and Larnaca to Ayia Napa.
- You can plan your own journey by checking buses schedules, routes and fares on https://www.publictransport.com.cy/
- The power sockets in Cyprus are type G. Our phone chargers didn’t fit in the hotel sockets so we had to buy a plug adapter.
Day 1: Larnaca
Enjoy a wakeboarding experience

We started our day with a wakeboarding lesson at Mackenzie beach! We had booked the session ahead of our planned visit to ensure availability. As we were beginners, our lesson was at 9 am to enjoy the sea before it gets windy and wavy.
The lesson included 3 parts:
- Theoretical at the beach to get familiar with the expected body movement and leg position.
- Beginners lesson holding a bar at the front of the boat to practice controlling the wakeboard and standing up.
- Practicing with the towing cable.
Mackenzie Watersports provided the safety vests and boards, and the coaches were very professional and patient giving us continuous tips and feedback to improve our wakeboarding performance.
As a first timer, it was a challenging yet awesome experience.
After our lesson, we tried some water activities such as flying sofa and banana. Then we enjoyed swimming at McKenzie beach watching airplanes fly above us!
Tour Larnaca

Afternoon, we enjoyed walking around Larnaca to discover the town:
- Walk along the sea side
- Tour Larnaca Medieval Castle (opening time 8 am-5pm; ticket: 5$). Climb to the top to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
- Visit Lazarus Church (Agios Lazaros) and admire its interior.
- Walk along the old streets and explore the shops; you can buy souvenirs, sip a cup of coffee or enjoy an ice-cream.
Watch the sunset at Larnaca Salt Lake

Our next stop was Larnaca Salt Lake; we ensured to reach around sunset to enjoy the captivating view.
You can actually walk on the salt! but be careful your shoes will get dirty. Wear old shoes or keep flipflops with you that can be cleaned later.
Enjoy dinner and drinks at Mackenzie

We spent the rest of the night at Mackenzie (near the beach) which offers a wide choice of resto bars. You can enjoy dinner at a restaurant and then have drinks and party at another. We explored all the restaurants/pubs to check their vibes before making our decision.
Day 2: Limassol
Swim in Limassol beaches
Don’t miss swimming in Limassol beaches. We didn’t take our swimsuits since we thought we will only walk around and explore the city, but we regretted it a lot as when we saw the clear waters it was very tempting to jump in.
Explore Limassol on foot

- Limassol Promenade – Molos
- Ayia Napa Cathedral
- Old port
- Limassol Marina
- Limassol Castle
Day 3: Protaras and Ayia Napa
Snorkel with the turtles at Green Bay
We started our day with an adventure with the turtles at Green Bay. We booked the activity with Green Bay watersports which included a boat ride to the sea where turtles gather, snorkeling goggles and life jackets, 30 minutes swimming. I advise you to take the life jacket to avoid getting tired while swimming in deep waters.
The boat drove us to the bay at a depth of around 10 meters, and waited for us a little further while we snorkel for 30 minutes. It was an incredible experience as we encountered a lot of fish species and some turtles – the turtles swan by so fast we didn’t manage to take a photo.
Since turtles tend to change locations based on weather and seasons, always inquire about the probability to encounter the turtles before booking.
Explore Cavo Greco Natural Park

Cavo Greco has a lot to offer: Natural bridge, Ayioi Anargiroi Church, blue lagoon, cape cave Greco, sea caves… You can visit the tourist desk at the entrance and get a map to identify the different destinations you can explore and the routes to get there. Be prepared for a lot of walking if you don’t have a car. Since we were exploring on foot under the summer heat we only saw:
- Crow’s arch, a natural bridge made from rocks.
- Blue Lagoon
Swim at Konnos Beach

In the afternoon, we enjoyed swimming at Konnos Beach. If you’re taking the bus, get off at Konnos beach bus stop and then descend the stairs all the way to the beach. It’s a beautiful spacious beach, the water is so clear that you see the fish and swim along side them – you might also encounter turtles further away from the shallow waters.
Have sunset drinks in Cliff bar

Located inside Grecian Park Hotel, Cliff Bar offers beautiful sea views, cozy ambience, and nice drinks presentation – they also have a food menu.
Dine/party in Ayia Napa

For the night we headed to Ayia Napa downtown. We explored the streets, stores, and restaurants to decide where to eat. We didn’t party since we had a snorkeling experience early next morning.
Day 4: Ayia Napa
Snorkel or dive in MUSAN – Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa

MUSAN was an amazing snorkeling adventure!
The idea behind MUSAN was to attract marine life to the area where fish come and settle near the sculptures and statues.
We booked our snorkeling experience with a diving academy; it included providing snorkeling gear (boots, fins, suits, masks), a safety float in case we got tired, and pictures and videos to treasure our experience.
It’s such a unique and memorable experience admiring the beautiful sculptures and encountering fish, squids and octopus.
Exploring Ayia Napa beaches
After our MUSAN experience, we stayed in the area and strolled along the sea to explore Ayia Napa beaches. We then got back to downtown to lunch and buy a few souvenirs.
How we booked?
We stayed two nights in Larnaca and two nights in Ayia Napa. We booked our hotels through Booking.com, which offers a wide range of accommodation options and great deals! Discover hotels in Cyprus for every style and budget with https://booking.com.
If you book through this link, I’ll receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support!
Where we stayed?
In Larnaca, we stayed in Tiffany City Apartments; the owners are very friendly and the hotel’s location is convenient: 15 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes walk to Finikoudes beach and bus stop, few minutes walk to the restaurants square and shopping stores.
In Ayia Napa, we stayed in Konnos Bay gardens. We loved the location, in a calm area right next to Konnos beach and a choice of restaurants.
What we ate?

We loved the food in Cyprus and its presentation! We tried both local and international dishes:
- Halloumi cheese breakfast.
- Sheftalia, a local dish of minced meat.
- Kleftiko, a local lamb dish.
- Chicken tempura salad
- Orange cake
- Sea food salad.
- Italian – we dined at Ravioli’s near Konnos beach.
Wishing you memorable experiences and awesome adventures in Cyprus!
